The ISMTE Podcast Series launched in January 2022 as part of the society’s year-long anniversary celebration. Each month, the host and a new guest delve into hot topics, innovations, and educational tools we can all learn more about and put into daily practice in our respective roles. The series is hosted by Phaedra Cress, Vice President of ISMTE and Executive Publisher, Journals for Aesthetic Surgery Journal and ASJ Open Forum.
Look for new episodes monthly, drop us a line if you’d like to participate or suggest a topic for a future podcast, and let us know how we’re doing here: [email protected].
“The experience reinforced my belief that only good could come from staying actively involved in this network”
My volunteering journey at ISMTE started with a gut feeling that I should respond to a call for participation in the organisation of the Asia-Pacific Conference 2020 to be held in Melbourne. It felt within my comfort zone and being located in Australia made so much sense. The task ahead with this fabulously diverse and engaged committee turned out to be a rollercoaster ride when COVID disrupted the face-to-face meeting at the very last moment. But teamwork across the globe made it possible to shift the whole program to a virtual event a few months later. The experience reinforced my belief that only good could come from staying actively involved in this network of publishing professionals.
As the Board member overseeing the Volunteer Focus Area, I try to reach out to longtime and new members to find you the right spot so that you can start your own journey at ISMTE.
Specifically for those members in the Asia-Pacific (AP) region, the opportunity to join the AP conference organising committee as part of the ISMTE Global Event 2023 is coming up!
Don’t hesitate to express your interest, I look forward hearing from you!
ISMTE committees and task forces are always looking for motivated member volunteers. If you’re interested, please complete the ISMTE Volunteer Form or contact Anke van Eekelen, ISMTE Volunteer Board Liaison, at [email protected] for more information.
